Supervised parenting time can provide additional structure when a child’s contact with a parent or other family member requires professional observation. Resolve WNY provides nonclinical supervised parenting time designed to support appropriate parent-child contact while maintaining clear boundaries and objective documentation.

Supervision may be privately arranged by families or provided in connection with a court order, attorney referral or other professional referral when the requested service falls within Resolve WNY’s scope.

What Professional Supervision Includes

Depending on the circumstances and service arrangement, Resolve WNY may provide:

• Scheduled supervised parenting-time sessions
• Professional observation throughout the visit
• A structured, child-centered environment
• Clear expectations and service boundaries
• Documentation of relevant observable interactions and events
• Arrival, departure and attendance documentation
• Documentation of cancellations or interruptions
• Coordination regarding scheduling and administrative matters
• Authorized communication with attorneys, Attorneys for Children, mental-health providers or other referral professionals when appropriate

Objective Documentation

When documentation is included, Resolve WNY records factual, observable information relevant to the supervised session.

Documentation may include:

• Who attended the visit
• Arrival and departure times
• Activities and interactions observed
• Significant statements or events when relevant
• Compliance with established visitation parameters
• Interruptions or circumstances affecting the session

Supervisors do not diagnose participants, determine whether allegations are true or false, make custody determinations or provide legal conclusions.

Court-Ordered & Privately Arranged Services

Resolve WNY may accept both privately arranged and court-related supervised parenting-time matters when the requested service falls within our available scope.

When a court order or professional referral establishes specific requirements, Resolve WNY reviews those requirements before accepting the matter to determine whether we can appropriately provide the requested service.

Acceptance of a referral is not automatic. Some circumstances may require a clinical provider, specialized facility, security measures or another level of intervention that Resolve WNY does not provide.

More Than Supervised Visitation

Supervised parenting time is one part of Resolve WNY's broader Family Access Services.

Families may also need monitored or safe exchanges, supportive/facilitated family access, professional coordination or another level of family-access support. The appropriate service depends on the circumstances and requested level of structure.

Therapeutic Supervision

Standard Resolve WNY supervised parenting time is nonclinical.

When therapeutic supervised visitation or another clinical family-access service is appropriate, that service is provided only through an appropriately licensed or credentialed Clinical Affiliate acting within their professional scope, when available. Families may otherwise be referred to an appropriate outside provider.

Resolve WNY supervised parenting-time services are not custody evaluations, forensic evaluations, therapy, legal representation or legal advice. Supervisors do not determine custody or visitation rights, make recommendations regarding the ultimate legal outcome of a case, diagnose participants or determine the truth of disputed allegations.

Supervised parenting time does not guarantee any particular court, custody or parenting outcome.
